Guests said that they thoroughly enjoyed waking up to the picturesque views of the Cumbria countryside which they could enjoy from their balconies. Many were pleased to find that their accommodation was clean upon arrival and appreciated the fact that the rooms were serviced daily by the housekeeping staff.
The hotel is nestled in the lush Cumbrian countryside and surrounded by 14 acres of private gardens offering peace and tranquillity as well as picture-postcard views. Guests who wanted to sample the local pubs and restaurants were pleased to find that they could walk to the nearby village and also appreciated being close to many tourist attractions.
During their free time guests enjoyed relaxing in the well-presented lounge which was said to be recently decorated and featuring a cosy open fire place. During finer weather many chose to have their drinks and afternoon tea on the sun terrace from which they could take in the views of the gardens.
Some of the guests mentioned that the walls were quite thin as they could hear everything going on in the adjoining rooms. Those whose rooms were located close to the bar said that they were disturbed by music and noise which often lasted until late in the evening.
The rooms in the older part of the building have been described as rather dated with guests stating that the furniture and upholstery are starting to show their age.
Guests noticed a shortage of staff at breakfast and objected having to wait rather a long time to place and receive their orders. Items that had run out were also not replenished on time.
