Hotel Zeus is a two-star family-run hotel with 33 rooms located in Costa del Sol, Málaga, Spain. It is less than a mile away from Málaga train station. Rooms are done up traditionally with a simple décor. They are equipped with flat screen televisions, ceiling fans, soundproof windows, air conditioning, safety deposit box, central heating and tiled floors. Wi-Fi is complimentary in rooms and public areas. Guests can avail facilities like luggage storage, fax, photocopying, babysitting, concierge and car hire. There are many kids/family activities onsite along with a golf course. Elevator is functional for all the floors. Complimentary continental buffet style breakfast is served in a separate dining room. There is also a bar/lounge. Hotel Zeus is only one mile away from the medieval Alcazaba of Málaga fortress. It is a ten-minute walk to the Cathedral and Picasso’s place of birth.
The hotel is located in a quiet side street that is not too far from the main train and bus stations. Going to the airport is also faster and economical if travelling by train. Guests could walk down to all the major tourist attractions and restaurants.
Rooms were basic yet clean and cosy. Most of the guests found the beds to be very comfortable, which was a major factor in helping them get a good night's sleep. Bathrooms were of good size provided with the basic amenities like soap and shampoo. Shower was good with lots of regular hot water supply.
Guests appreciated the 24-hour service in the hotel. All the staff members were very friendly and pleasant. They were prompt and trained to do their respective jobs well.
Though the hotel was kept clean, most of the guests were not too happy with the smell of stagnant and dirty water that had permeated into the hotel. They felt that the hotel might be having a sewer problem that should be dealt with immediately.
Wi-Fi kept disconnecting, which was irritating especially for the guests who had come for a business trip and had to work online. Guests could hear their neighbours talking and housekeeping staff cleaning the corridors in the morning even though the rooms were claimed to be soundproof.
Guests loved the breakfast served here but the only glitch was that they had to walk down to a neighbouring sister hotel to eat their breakfast. This sister hotel was a couple of streets away, which was not too convenient.
