Rooms generally are comfortable and well furnished in a homely and relaxing style. They include lots of towels and generous supplies of free toiletries. Room 14, though, has a particularly large shower with access to the terrace.
They can arrange the entire event for you here, from the ceremony through to the reception, entertainment and accommodation. Social events are a speciality here, although they ensure that the interests of individual guests don't suffer.
They make great play of the pub's award for ales, but dining is another matter. Dry and cardboard tasting burgers and indifferent other hot dishes, served cold … are hopefully the result of an off day in the kitchen. They are still charged for at ‘full whack' though!!
The restaurant is enormous and with reds and subdued colours being the choice of most restaurants to create a relaxed setting … they've gone for blue. Blue! Combined with a dreadful choice of music and kids having escaped to the wild and running up and down to surrounding areas, the atmosphere is that of a ‘noisy' canteen.
Hopefully, most rooms are considerably better but, equally, some are subject to poor standards of decoration, loose tiles and broken door handles.
