The gymnasium at the Gran Caribe Resort and Spa receives great reviews from guests. With more equipment than an average hotel gym, a variety of fitness classes also run throughout the day for those who wish to remain active throughout their stay in Mexico.

The main buffet restaurant 'Albatross' serves a variety of dishes, with most guests advising that the quality of food served was ten out of ten. Where necessary, chefs will endeavor to go 'off-menu' to try and cater for those with food intolerances.

Some guests have remarked that the hotel would benefit from a quiet pool, as the main pool is quite lively with loud music and entertainment. The pool is also quite small. That said, the beach is a very relaxing environment for those looking for somewhere to wind down.

A handful of guests have advised that during peak season, quite a lot of noise can be heard from hotel rooms at night, when other guests return from the disco. Guests with children may want to bear this in mind and look to request a room in a quiet part of the hotel upon booking.

The lobby area within the Gran Caribe Resort and Spa is not air-conditioned, resulting in a very warm environment. Some guests commented that this was particularly noticeable when queuing to check in and out of the hotel.
