Woodlands takes great pride in its culinary offerings. This is clearly reflected in the overall customer experience as many guests regard the food - freshly made with local ingredients - to be the hotel's most impressive feature. The steaks are a particular treat!
Spalding's quaint little town centre is only about ten minutes away on foot. And, because this is the famed flat-as-a-pancake land of the Fens, it's only ten minutes to walk back to the hotel at the end of the evening too. Handy.
Despite being cosy and charming, some guests have stated that the hotel's bar feels a little old fashioned and soulless at times. Perhaps it's down to the fact the tables are covered with tablecloths...
Whilst the accommodations here tend, in general, to be of a pretty good standard, it is fair to say the guest rooms at the cheaper end of the budget spectrum let the side down a little. Ornate they are not.
A few minor issues aside, it is evident that Woodlands - on the whole - does a pretty good job of delivering largely positive and pleasant holiday experiences.
