There are 200 metres of cross-country runs behind the hotel, and alpine slopes on nearby Mount Thurntaler. The Walter is a 3-minute walk from San Candido Train Station, with connections to Fortezza and Salzburg. Buses to Cortina and Bolzano stop 100 metres from the hotel. The hotel provides free parking.
