Hotel Villas El Rancho Green Resort (Mazatlan, Mexico)

The staff here has been described as excellent. A guest who had a medical emergency and had to go to the hospital was touched by the genuine concern shown by staff members. They showed immense concern for his health and checked up on him frequently once the emergency was over. The property is well run and is always clean, thanks to this dedicated staff.

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by beautiful, tropical gardens, the guests here appreciate the beautiful location. The place is also well linked by reasonably priced public transport so that getting out and about in the local area is never a problem.

The restaurant here is reasonably priced and serves delicious food, which is well presented. Over the weekends there is a buffet, which is also delicious. This area is well known for its shrimp, and the resort is reportedly good for seafood lovers.

Guests report poor maintenance and upkeep, with furniture, fixtures, tiles and the likes needing attention in the villas. Villas were often found to be dirty, and ants, spiders and mice have been spotted.

Several guests have reported that the water in the hot tub is barely warm, and never hot enough. This seems to be a permanent problem.

The villas are made in an open plan with bedroom doors having slats offering little or no privacy. Sounds easily carried across the doors. The villas with loft bedrooms are completely open to the living area. Some guests who were unaware of this layout were a little unhappy. Some guests also mentioned that the absence of dishwashers and washer/dryers was quite an inconvenience. However, getting laundry done here is quite reasonably priced.
