For those that want to take in Tokyo's infamous nightlife, Villa Fontaine Shinjuku might be the place for you. With easy access to well-known Rappongi and Shinjuku, the lively party scene in these areas is alive and kicking if you want it to be. Located in the Kobakicho district, sometimes called "sleepless town", guests also found that a fun night out was practically right outside the hotel door.

While guests found hotel rooms to be on the small side, they were impressed with larger bathrooms. A separate shower and tub can be a rarity in Japanese hotel rooms, and guests liked having this feature.

As one might expect in technology obsessed Japan, using the Internet was never a problem. Guests could easily connect and stay connected.

Some guests were ready for earplugs after experiencing a noisy evening riddled with sirens. A hospital is close to Villa Fontaine Shinjuku, which means that guests are likely to hear ambulances at all hours of the night. Guests might have better luck with rooms at the back of the hotel.

Several guests complained of hotel staff that had limited English comprehension. But the main issue was with unfriendly front desk staff that baffled some guests. Many staying at the hotel were accustomed to warm Japanese greetings and endearing politeness, but instead got a cold shoulder and curt service. Guests also warned that those checking out late might be met with a stern staff member who will charge you extra.

While many guests described this hotel as new and modern, some found that rooms were already in need of a makeover. It seems some accommodation has seen its share of wear and tear, and guests noticed fraying upholstery, stains, lumpy pillows, and other items that needed attention.
