Hotel Via Espana (Panama City, Panama)

Minutes from Albrook "Marcos A. Gelabert" International Airport and convenient to the Panama Canal Museum, the Bridge of the Americas and other Panama City attractions, the hotel was in a good location for most guests. They also appreciated nearby shops and restaurants.  Nearby beaches were also a plus.

Guests considered the complimentary airport shuttle one of advantages to staying at this hotel.

Hotels in Panama City can be quite costly and guests said this hotel was less expensive than others with similar amenities, that it offered basic value and was adequate for an overnight stay.

Reviews for this hotel were overwhelmingly negative. Guests complained that the rooms were dark and depressing, the beds uncomfortable with worn, ill-fitting sheets and stained pillows. Other complaints included improperly functioning toilets, non working air conditioning units, stained carpets and bedding and broken door locks. Most guests said they would not return, others advised prospective guests to look elsewhere.

Guests were dissatisfied with the level of cleanliness throughout this facility and reported that bathrooms were irregularly or improperly cleaned, that rubbish bins weren't emptied and that there were unpleasant odours in rooms, hallways and other public places.

Guests had numerous complaints about the staff at this hotel including a lack of English speaking personnel and rude, hostile and surly attitudes. Guests cited individual instances of uncooperative and unfriendly behaviour and many said the staff alone would be a deterrent to a return visit.
