Guests like the hotel security which ensures that non-authorised persons cannot access the interior corridors, also there is a 24-hour receptionist on duty. The Vagabond Inn is perceived as a much better choice than many other comparably priced hotels in the region.

Rooms were found to be recently renovated, comfortable, and clean, and the hotel staff are described by many guests as being exceptional: they are friendly, hard working, and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient with a very good Thai restaurant across the street and many other eating and shopping places nearby.

The breakfast including the coffee which is included in the room rate was quite lovingly described by guests who obviously appreciated it, and the Wi-Fi access was found to be super fast. Guests were also pleased to have a microwave oven and a refrigerator in their room, others appreciated the staff's willingness to move them to a room with a mountain view.

Guests who found fault with this hotel stayed in rooms that were so small that there was not even room for a closet, and there was just a clothes rack provided in the bathroom: highly unsatisfactory. The carpets were not clean and there is a generally run down appearance to this establishment.

The breakfast location was rather cramped with limited numbers of tables and chairs. In spite of the hotel being a non-smoking establishment, the bedding had cigarette burn holes and many people including staff were smoking near to guest rooms.

Noisy air conditioning kept guests awake, in another room the TV was not working, however the staff did resolve the problem. Overall this establishment is rather tired and uncared for.
