When compared with the centre of Kyoto, this is a pretty quiet place to lay ones head and get some rest. Guests don't have to worry very much about throbbing expressways or busy train tracks keeping them awake at night in this part of town.
There are a number of different breakfast options provided here so, unlike so many other Japanese hotels operating within this price range, you can look forward to enjoying a bit of variety during your stay. Guests have found the lighter breakfasts to be far more filling than they first appear.
This hotel is quite far away from the city centre and most other sights/attractions. Indeed, most things worth seeing are a bus or train ride away; unfortunately the buses run irregularly at weekends and stop altogether at around 9:30 p.m.
Be prepared for a bit of an adventure and a few knee bumps whenever you need to 'go' - the toilets here really are very small, which caused taller and bigger guests some discomfort.
Guests noticed that most urban Japanese hotels manage to provide at least one English language channel (normally BBC News) on their TVs. Not here though; at this hotel it's Japanese or nothing!
