Hotel Upper Room (Berlin, Germany)

Guests said this hotel has a great location for shopping, and was also within a short walk of the Berlin Zoo and Kaufhaus des Westens. It is apparently also handily located for jumping on the S Bahn overground or U Bahn underground Metro lines — and for buses — and this central location means Berlin's transport system will get you around very quickly.

Those who stayed at Upper Room Hotel Kurfürstendamm said they encountered comfortable and clean rooms with nicely-presented bathrooms and good Wi-Fi. Although it is reportedly not luxurious, it was thought to offer a very competitive price for Berlin.

The complimentary breakfast buffet on offer here was thought to be decent, with a wide selection of simple continental fare on offer. Having said this, the breakfast room was thought to be a bit small and a few guests would have liked a more comprehensive array of dishes on offer.

Although this hotel has a lift, some guests considered it to be rather old and slow and there are still some stairs required to reach this. In particular, the spiral staircase was thought to be difficult to navigate with luggage.

The staff members here were thought to be less than friendly, impolite and rather direct in their service, although those who stayed conceded that they nevertheless appeared to be efficient.

Carpeting in rooms at Upper Room Hotel Kurfürstendamm was sometimes mentioned as being stained and occasionally damp, while other guests were unhappy to note that their rooms were much smaller than they would have liked.
