The rooms on offer at Truckhaven Carnforth are quite simple in both décor and in appointments but are very clean and spacious enough to comfortably move around in. the en-suite bathrooms are also very clean and well-maintained. Room amenities are practical without adding any unnecessary clutter.
Service is both friendly and professional with staff offering service with a smile. The cafeteria-style restaurant offers a nice variety of meal options and is clean, bright and spacious. Restaurant staff are efficient and very approachable.
At first the idea of a truck-stop may be off-putting to some but the sheer convenience of a one-stop shop just can't be beat. Rooms are clean and modern with hot showers, the restaurant combines a convenience store and the parking and Wi-Fi are both free and plentiful.
Operating the en-suite shower can be a bit tricky trying to find the right temperature between extreme hot and extreme cold. Sometimes water pressure fluctuations also causes erratic temperature changes which can be annoying and uncomfortable.
The Truckhaven is primarily aimed at drivers passing through the area and offers a more practical cafeteria-style restaurant which, although very clean with good quality food, may not be to everyone's taste or expectations.
Some of the rooms tend to be a bit more prone to the environmental noise of the area, ranging from noisy kitchen extractor fans to the busy A6 roadway. If a light sleeper, it may be a good idea to book rooms well-away from these to sources of noise.
