Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of this hotel is the low rates charged for the rooms. The hotel's prices are low and compare favourably to other hotels in St Austell. Guests also appreciate the free parking and mention that the charge for extra Wi-Fi access is reasonable.
Guests tend to enjoy the location of the hotel, citing how it is easy to access from the A390 and a short walk to the town centre, where there is a decent selection of shop and dining options. The combination of a lack of air-conditioning and traffic noise from the nearby road may present a problem during warmer weather. Guests comment that the rooms can feel too hot but opening the windows subjects you to somewhat unbearable noise.
Although the new Dreamer beds attract positive feedback, guests who stayed on one of the single beds were far less impressed. These extra beds seem to be little more than a camp bed and appear to be uncomfortable for anyone other than young children.
The buffet breakfast goes down well with some guests but by no means all. A number of guests mention that the choice was limited and there were no vegetarian sausages available as promised. Also, the breakfast staff were noted as appearing rather apathetic when it came to clearing tables and refilling food.
