It appealed that there was ample free parking and a carvery restaurant next door plus more dining options just a short walk away as well as a supermarket opposite. Non-drivers liked the way there were bus stops and railway stations nearby. It was also reportedly easy to reach vibrant Cardiff city centre for nightlife, shopping, dining, museums and sports venues.

According to many guests, the rooms were basic but more than adequately clean, tidy and comfortable for a shorter stay. Features like the flat-screen TVs and cosy beds were singled out for praise.
