Situated in the trendy residential neighbourhood of Trastevere, TratevereDreamSuites offers clean and comfortable B&B accommodation in a charming residential apartments block. There are four rooms and an apartment available. The furniture is simple and the decor bold. Each room has private bathroom, air conditioning, flat screen TV and seating area. The apartment has two bedrooms and also has a fully equipped kitchen. There are no real public facilities at TrastevereDreamSuites, but free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. A basic breakfast of tea, coffee and croissant is delivered to the rooms every morning. For other meals the culinary centre that is Rome beckons beyond the doors. The residential Trastevere neighbourhood is interesting in its own right, but Rome’s tourist heartland is about two miles away. The Vatican, with its museums and St. Peter’s, is about 2.2 miles to the north.
This seems to be what guests most liked about the rooms. They describe the surrounding Trastevere neighbourhood as mostly residential, but with all the shops, restaurants and bars they could want. Many felt a little less like a tourist in the neighbourhood.
While breakfast only consisted of tea or cappuccino and a croissant, this was delivered to their rooms with such care an attention by the host, Maria, that it became something of a mini highlight of a guest's day.
There were no complaints about the cleanliness to be found. On the contrary many guests specifically mention how clean their room was when the checked in. Regular cleaning throughout their stay also took place.
This is perhaps the most common complaint. The rooms are described as being low down in a building that is on a very busy street. For most guests this means disturbing noise and difficulty sleeping at night. Also mentioned was that there was no sound insulation between the rooms.
Unfortunately cultural differences struck at the suites, since a couple of guests mentioned the lack of in-room tea and coffee facilities. It seems these are somewhat less prevalent in Italy than Britain, say, but this was cold comfort for guests sitting forlorn in their rooms without a cuppa.
While room size wasn't heavily criticised, the bathrooms did come in for a bit more. To many guests they were a tad too small to be truly comfortable. Some felt a bit like they were in a bathroom on a train or aeroplane.
