Hotel Tradewinds Carmel (Carmel-by-the-Sea, USA)

Guests loved the unique and contemporary Asian look of the rooms and suites. It has large bamboo stakes in pots, Zen waterfall and kimono robes. Organic toiletries like soap, lotion dispensers and shampoo added to the authentic Asian feel. Colors used in the rooms are very rich and earthy. Even the ceiling has a very interesting pitched design and workmanship. Some of the rooms gave a very tranquil and peaceful view of the ocean. The chocolate covered strawberries in the rooms were a lovely gesture.

Continental breakfast served is very palatable and included coffee, fruit, fresh yoghurt, cereals, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, peanut butter, toast, jam, pastries and bagel. It was good enough to give them a good start to the day. Guests loved the set-up of the breakfast, which was refreshed promptly without any waiting period.

All the staff members were very friendly and extremely helpful. They were thorough professionals and knew their job very well. Guests were quite happy with the staff providing the concierge services as they helped them plan their local travel itinerary too.

Wi-Fi connection was very erratic and patchy which kept disconnecting time and again. It was very irritating for guests having to work with a sluggish connection.

Some of the guests could hear their neighbors talk and laugh. They felt the sound proofing of the rooms was very bad. They could also hear a lot of noise from the units up stairs.

Few guests felt that there was insufficient parking space and the management should increase the parking area to avoid inconvenience.
