The Hotel Tigaiga hotel is a family-run four star property close to the Risco Belle Aquatic Gardens and overlooking Puerto de la Cruz, Spain. Tigaiga hotel with its elevated position, mountain views and proximity to some lovely gardens has attracted glowing reviews from guests for offering enjoyable, tranquil stays. The hotel is away from the crowds of the main resort which many guests appreciated. There are views of the mountains and the sea from the hotel. Guests can enjoy performances from Canarian singing groups while staying here.
The hotel rooms are spacious and very nicely done up said guests. Also they have lots of power points, storage shelves, drawers and so on. The rooms are immaculate and very well maintained in this family run establishment.
The staff is friendly and welcoming said guests. The staff is particularly caring of older guests and anyone who may be ill or in need of special looking after and happy to upgrade or accommodate guests when possible.
The reason the Tigaiga commands such lovely views is the fact that it is on a rise overlooking Puerto de la Cruz so getting up to the hotel is a bit of a trudge across gardens with steps and so on. Taxis are available, however, so this needn't be an issue.
Some guests felt that the breakfast, while being good was rather basic and lacked choice. Guests also felt that having to pay for in room amenities such as tea and coffee makers and safes was not to be expected in a four star property.
Some guests thought that the hotel was rather too tranquil and felt that it is perhaps more suited to older clientele. The hotel is owned by a German family and tends to attract a lot of German guests as well.
