Hotel Tiepolo (Venice, Italy)

This is by far the most positive aspect of the hotel mentioned by guests. They love being just steps from Saint Mark's Square, since almost all of Venice's main attractions are just a short walk away.

Reception staff at Venetian hotels often come in for some criticism, compared to less touristy locations, but guests  at Tiepolo's were happy to report that they were welcoming, friendly and very professional in the way they dealt with guests issues and requests.

Several guests go out of their way to compliment the housekeeping staff on an excellent job, saying that their rooms were spotlessly clean on arrival, and tended to remain that way during the course of their stay.

While reviews are mostly positive, the noise level outside the hotel at night seems to be the one thing that really does irk guests. While they obviously appreciated that there would be some noise in such a central location, that was cold comfort when they were trying to sleep with revellers passing by right outside.

While regular visitors to Venice take this in their stride, others can be a bit surprised by how small the rooms are. But small rooms are definitely the norm in Venice, so guests tend to spend most of their time exploring the city and its canals, and use their rooms mainly for sleeping and bathing.

Another Venice cliché, but a large number of guests expressed their frustration about how difficult it was to find the hotel on arrival. Unless the hotel is right on the Grand Canal this is the norm in Venice. Guests are advised to print out a clear neighbourhood map indicting the hotels location precisely.
