Hotel Tiber (Fiumicino, Italy)

Probably the most remarked upon aspect of the hotel was that it affords terrific views over the Mediterranean, especially from the restaurant and roof terrace.

For what is often treated as a mere airport hotel, guests are pleasantly surprised by the number of good restaurants, and general street life, in the area around the hotel. If they wanted something different from what the in-house restaurant was offering they didn't have far to walk.

While not right at Leonardo da Vinci Airport, the hotel is quite nearby, and can be reached by convenient shuttle. Many guests are staying for just one night before heading out, and all are unanimous that the hotel more than fits the bill for an airport layover. Several also mentioned that they really couldn't hear any of the airport associated noise.

Several guests comment that they thought the price of the hotel's shuttle service was a bit steep, especially if travelling in a group. In addition, it seems that taxi drivers are extremely reluctant to transport guests from the airport to the hotel since the small fare would not make it worth their while.

Since most guests are simply using the hotel for a quick layover, this didn't come up often, but some did point out that it would be a very awkward and inconvenient location for guests wanting to see Rome's attractions.

As seems to be relatively common in hotel bathrooms, a few guests maintain that the showers are designed in such a way that having a shower partially floods the whole bathroom floor.
