Situated in Coniston in the heart of the Lake District National Park, The Yewdale Inn places guests near the Ruskin Museum and Coniston Water. The inn is pet-friendly (by arrangement) and offers limited free parking. There are eight bedrooms, each one centrally heated and offering en-suite bathroom facilities with complimentary toiletries. Guests are complimentary about the standard of the rooms at the Yewdale Inn. Some reviews do indicate that they are a little small but they are found to be comfortable regardless. Rooms are often described as immaculate and nicely decorated.
Dining at this inn attracts plenty of positive feedback in its own right. Guests rate the Cumbrian breakfast highly and also appreciate the quality of the meals served in the bistro. The option to sit outside on the terrace in warmer weather is a big plus.
The location of the Yewdale Inn consistently appeals to guests. Coniston, like so many villages in the Lake District, is very picturesque and nice to simply walk around. Plus, you'll be near some great hiking paths as well as within easy reach of popular area attractions.
With just four spaces available, parking at this inn is very limited indeed. Over the summer when tourism in the area is in full flow, the lack of parking has the potential to become frustrating very quickly. Guests are asked to leave car keys in case their car needs to be moved.
A number of guests mention that they were unable to get a Wi-Fi signal in their room although it does seem that the Internet service is in the process of being upgraded. Getting a mobile phone signal is a bit hit and miss in this area too.
While many guests are impressed by how quiet the rooms at the Yewdale Inn are, light sleepers may be disturbed by the regular tolling of a nearby church's bells. That said, it doesn't seem excessive and can probably be remedied with a pair of earplugs.
