About The Yard

The Yard is a farm-style home with different unit types situated on a spacious property in Gordon’s Bay. We have a dorm, private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and a fully self-catering Cottage. A 5-minute walk to the beach and views of the beautiful mountain form part of our charm. Close to a few shopping centers and numerous quaint little restaurants. Lots of Wine Farms in a 50km radius. All rooms have a separate entrances which ensures your privacy. The Main House is occupied by the owners who manage the property. The Yard offers ample safe parking behind locked gates. Please make prior arrangements if bringing a trailer or your pets (Yes, we are PET-FRIENDLY). The Yard can accommodate groups of up to 12 people. Groups will then cater for themselves from The Cottage. Gordons Bay has 2 harbours and a walk an the jetty to watch the boats coming in and out is a must. BITS @The Yard is a 2-sleeper unit, is free standing and sports a double bed. It used to be the owner’s workshop, ergo the acronym BITS, i.e. Bed In The Shed. The owner has creatively converted this into a unique bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom. Combining old and new and adding its unique décor has made this unit an integral part of the wider farm-style elegance that is essentially a part of the property’s character. This unit has a fridge and microwave. Just outside is a communal washbasin and barbecue area. All rooms are fitted out with a kettle and tea/coffee tray. There is secure parking right next to the unit enclosed in The Yard. The Cottage @ The Yard is a self-catering unit sporting a cosy outside barbeque area. The unit incorporates 1 bedroom with a comfy Kingsize bed and en-suite bathroom. With an air conditioner for the swelling hot summer days and a cosy fireplace for our (hopefully) wet winters it's a great all year round. The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge area adds to the unique ambiance, while the sleeper couch in the lounge easily accommodates two extra adults. It is situated at the back of the property, is pretty private and has a beautiful mountain view. The Cottage is the ultimate unit when bringing your pets. It is fenced in, so that you and your pets can relax outside, without being concerned that they will bother anyone else on The Yard. There is secure parking right next to the unit enclosed in The Yard. The Vine @ The Yard can sleep 2 adults. You have an option of a Kingsize bed OR 2 Single Beds. The unit has an open plan En-suite bathroom. There is a bar fridge and microwave with basic crockery and cutlery. It also has a kettle with a coffee/tea tray. Situated at the front of the house with a lovely stoep to relax on. There is secure parking right next to the unit enclosed in The Yard.
