The best dining options for those who are not self catering are in the town centre, less that three kilometres away. Paasha Nelson, a casual Turkish restaurant, comes especially highly recommended. Good family fun can be had at both Natureland Wildlife Trust, a compact and much-loved zoo, and the adjacent Tahunanui Beach, which are approximately three kilometres south of The Wheelhouse Inn.
