The Village House is a hideaway lodge bordering the Bako National Park, a 25-minute drive from Kuching. Within remote natural surroundings, this hotel, constructed using indigenous wooden architecture, makes for a tranquil getaway. There is accommodation for a range of budgets, from the two luxury Rajan suites with private verandas to the two House rooms – dormitories sleeping six in bunk beds. The standard rooms include solid timber four-poster beds, rain showers and air conditioning. Guests can relax around the large swimming pool, on a reclining chair or hammock, or in the tropical gardens. The Village House also features a terrace as well as a common lounge with a library and boardgames. Local and international cuisine are available in the hotel's restaurant, and the Flying Frog bar is a great place to unwind with a drink. A shuttle service takes guests to the base of Mount Santubong, just a three-minute drive away. The Sarawak Cultural Village is five kilometres from the accommodation.
