The Victoria House Hotel is a 4-star boutique hotel located on the scenic Muckross road next door to the INEC in Killarney, Ireland's most thriving and popular all year-round holiday destination. From the 34 elegant rooms, guests can choose from double, deluxe or family rooms. All the guest rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, climate control, iron/ironing board, telephone, working desk and satellite television. Bathrooms are provided with bathtub/shower, hair dryer and free toiletries. Free perks like private parking and Wi-Fi are available. Facilities like laundry, dry cleaning, fax, tour desk, babysitting and 24-hour front desk are available. Activities like cycling and hiking can also be taken up by the guests. Bikes hire is available next door. Breakfast with a wide variety of choices is served every morning. An onsite eatery called Sika restaurant and Ivy Room bar are also present. Majority of the guests loved the breakfast served here. The spread was huge and the guests were spoilt for choice. The Pancakes have got a special mention from many guests. Piping hot food with good portions was served which were good enough to pull the guests through the day. The menu for lunch and dinner was also very good and guests enjoyed turkey, ham and roast beef. There was a good vegetarian spread too.
Since the hotel was located next to the National Cycling Path, the Jaunting Car and walking paths, the guests enjoyed their beautiful views of the woodlands and mountains. Guests could hire bicycles or the horses and carriages to take them to the places nearby. Torc Waterfall is a short stroll away.
Guests loved the setup of the entire hotel and each of the rooms had a unique decor. All the amenities and services provided in the hotel were top class. It has the feel of a boutique hotel with nice furnishings and high ceilings. Each member of staff was very helpful and friendly. Professionally very sound, they knew their job very well which went a long way in keeping the guests comfortable.
Since there was no elevator, the guests had to carry their own luggage up a flight of stairs. Climbing the stairs was a tiresome affair for the elderly guests and young kids.
Few guests who had to work online were very disappointed with that fact that the Internet connection was very bad. It kept disconnecting time and again.
Most of the guests had a lot of difficulty in finding the hotel as there was no sign post. They either had to rely on a good GPS system or ask someone.
