The Tulbagh is centrally-located and conveniently placed to explore the town with its historic Church Street and many other attractions and amenities. The main hotel building dates from 1859 & offers a range of contemporary-styled luxurious rooms. The Winterhoek Manor (1813) and the Toll House (1809), opposite the hotel, are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. Individual décor and fine cotton linen adorning four poster beds. Chandeliers on yellowwood beamed ceilings. Our Honeymoon Suite is the jewel in our crown. Crafted from the old wagon shed, this suite oozes romantic charm. Open thatch, two fireplaces, bath and shower for two. There are three pool areas, free Wi-Fi throughout and an in-house beauty therapist. All areas have air conditioning and there are cosy wood-burning fires for winter evenings. Tulbagh is just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town, nestled at the foot of the Witzenberg, Winterhoek and Obiqua Mountains in the heart of the Cape Winelands. A range of speciality teas and coffees, milkshakes, freshly squeezed juices, scones and freshly baked cakes are available throughout the day. Open daily from 7am until 10pm, so call in anytime, even if it's just for a coffee or glass of wine, you are assured of a warm welcome. The Karee Wine Bar offers local draught beers, craft gin cocktails and a wide selection of local wines. There is a tapas menu, with a South African influence, and gourmet pizzas from the wood fired oven. The Olive Terrace Bistro offers à la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. As our emphasis is on sourcing local fresh seasonal produce, the menu changes weekly, and is an eclectic celebration of South African and international cuisine, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. The bistro has cosy fireplaces for winter, and a beautiful terrace and courtyard for summer al fresco dining.
