Breakfast is excellent and semi buffet in style. It's very good and in a relaxed atmosphere. Dinner, too, has lots of appeal and they obviously use fresh, local produce wherever they can. If anything, the dining experience exceeds that of accommodation,

You can’t help but notice how attractive the hotel’s facilities must be to organisers of social events and weddings. If staying here when one is taking place, it’s easy to see that they’ve cornered something of a market. All involved seem thrilled to bits

Nothing much going on here. Well worth giving it a swerve! The actor, Robert Morley once toured to New Zealand but said ‘unfortunately it was closed’. Sounds a bit like Shepton Mallet which, nowadays, is a centre for cider and cheese making.

Can’t do anything about it but some rooms look out over the car park and a Chinese take away. Not ideal for a relaxing break in the country.

Showers are temperamental and can reduce to a trickle. Hot water is not automatic and is reliant upon someone remembering to switch it on. When they forget, it takes an age to filter through. The bar can be noisy. Not a major factor but noticeable, never
