With recent renovations, the hotel has a lot more to offer. The are two large outdoor pools, four tennis courts and a basketball court. The hotel is located next to a lovely seven mile trail, suitable for hikers or those wishing to take advantage of the bike rentals. Guests loved the beautiful golf course at McCormick Ranch. If it's too hot, you can take advantage of the fully-equipped fitness center.
The resort caters to business, conference and vacation travelers. A wide variety of business services, including a graphic design team, is always onsite should something come up last minute. The hotel is not too far from downtown, but off-the-beaten-path enough for a relaxing stay and has plenty to offer after work.
The hotel is very environmentally conscious and tries to make efforts to conserve without making it inconvenient for guests. Complimentary water and chips are offered poolside and new towels are readily available.
Several guests have complained about checking into dirty rooms, with hair in the bathtub or items left over from previous guests. Other guests mentioned the rooms wasn't completely taken care of during their stay. However, most thought that the rooms were beautiful and well kept, especially after the recent renovations.
There were several instances where the front desk was extremely busy and understaffed, and guests had to wait significantly to check in and out. On busy weekends, the bartenders too, could use extra help.
While the hotel is close to downtown Scottsdale, you do need a car to get around. The resort is in the middle of a large ranch and walking to your destination outside the resort is not an option. If you don't have a car, transportation services can be arranged for you at the concierge.
