Hotel The Schooner Inn (Virginia Beach, USA)

Several reviews noted that this hotel is not as polished as some of the surrounding ones, but they appreciated that it was priced accordingly. For guests looking for a pleasant stay right on the beach without spending a lot of money, they found this to be an excellent choice.

Previous guests just loved the heated pool at The Schooner Inn. They found it to be well maintained and clean. They were also impressed by how big it was, and appreciated that the water temperature was just right. However, many guests skipped the pool entirely in favor of taking a swim in the ocean, which couldn't be closer to the hotel. Its proximity to the beach means it's near several ocean attractions, such as Grommet Island Park and Rudee Inlet.

Guests were impressed with the size of the rooms. Even people traveling with family found that there was plenty of room for everyone and their belongings.

Reviews of The Schooner Inn held quite a few complaints about the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas of the hotel. The majority of these complaints were minor ones, such as a little dust or cobwebs in the corners, but a few were more serious, such as multiple mentions of bloodstains and hair on the linens. In addition, there seemed to be inconsistencies with receiving housekeeping service.

Though many guests found their room to be perfectly cool, there were quite a few guests who had the misfortune of staying in rooms where the air conditioner did not work effectively or did not function at all.

Up until recently, there were smoking rooms available at The Schooner, which attracted several repeat travelers to the hotel. Those same repeat guests are rather upset that the hotel is now non-smoking.
