Boasting stunning ocean views, The Sandpiper Inn offers elegant and comfortable accommodation just a short stroll away from the beach. The individually decorated rooms, some of which boast sea views and fire places, have antique pieces of furniture, original artworks and sitting areas. Cottage rooms have private entrances. Guest staying at The Sandpiper Inn can relax and soak up the rays in the private courtyard or treat themselves to an in-room massage. Complimentary drinks are served each day in the cosy and comfortable lounge. Continental breakfasts are available on-site every morning whilst guests can enjoy their lunch and evening meals at some of the local cafes and restaurants such as the Grill on Ocean Drive, Dametra Cafe and Flaherty’s Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar. Carmel Plaza and Carmel Beach are both in close proximity to the guest house. Pebble Beach and Monterey Bay Aquarium are three miles away.
The guest house is located in a quiet residential area and many guests who stayed here said that all they could hear in the evenings were the crashing of the waves. The beach is just a block away from the building which the majority found very convenient as they did not have to rely on their cars all the time.
During their free time guests enjoyed sitting out on the patio in front of the cosy fire pit, having a few drinks and socialising with fellow occupants. Many also welcomed the opportunity of relaxing in the comfortable lounge where complimentary drinks are served each evening during the social hour.
Guests were pleased to report that the breakfasts included a wide range of items such as cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit. Manny appreciated the option of hot dishes such as freshly cooked quiches as well as being able to have their morning meal either on the patio or in their own rooms.
The standard-type en-suites have been described as being quite compact with guests stating that they did not have much room to move around in between the furniture.
The guest house is a bit of a long walk away from the nearest shops, bars and restaurants with quite a few guests stating that they either had to drive to town or get taxis. Walking back to the guest house in the evenings was said to be treacherous due to lack of street lights.
The soundproofing was said to be rather inadequate as guests said they were able to hear noise and the sounds of footsteps from the rooms above them.
