The Royal Hotel at Penrith is a ten room, family-run hotel located on a popular Lakeland walk in Dockray and accessible to the A66 motorway. Guests loved the country setting, the great hospitality and the spotlessly clean facilities. Many guests used the hotel as base-camp for a walking vacation. The facility grounds are well maintained and manicured and guests liked relaxing in the hotel gard

Many guests reported not only that the on-site Wi-Fi was intermittent, but cell phone coverage was as well. Several guests commented that the only way they found the hotel was by using their Satnavs.
Guests complained that room walls were paper thin and that they could hear the conversations of people staying in adjacent rooms. Many also found the hotel’s hot water system very noisy.
