Perched on the banks of the River Glen, just off the A16 between Boston and Peterborough, The Riverside makes for a pleasant stop-over. The bedrooms include TV, tea and coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms. For a fantastic view over the river, opt for the more spacious double rooms. Guests can relax by the riverside in the summer months on the lovely wooden decked terrace. Free Wi-Fi is available and there is plenty of free onsite parking. The hotel has a separate bar area for relaxing in. However, the main reason to stop at the Riverside is to experience the home-made British cooking in its restaurant. Offering exceptional value for money, it is ideal for refuelling before or after a day at the wheel. A Golf club is just opposite the hotel, whilst Spalding and its Springfield outlet shopping centre is just 10 minutes away.

The restaurant is the main deal here, attracting people in droves to eat in its lovely river-side setting. Guests comment on the excellent standard of its “proper” home cooked food and the affordable prices. The portions are plentiful and well-cooked.
When the weather behaves, guests love sitting out by the river or simply admiring it and the wildlife it attracts from their rooms (the ones with a riverside view of course). The good quality wooden decking on the river front is a big hit.
Surprisingly, the shower has the power to please a great deal of guests at the Riverside. Nice and hot, it revitalises them at the start of the day.
A great many clients found the staff friendly overall. For others they seemed at best rough around the edges and at worst not bothered in the slightest.A courteous greeting, “hello” or word on departure would perhaps radically change some peoples perception of the hotel. As it is, little things such as not offering to take bags, being greeted in the morning didn't make many guests feel at all welcome.
A lot of guests were annoyed that the hotel opened late in the afternoon at 5:30 pm and residents couldn't access their rooms earlier.
Some guests found the rooms cold; the radiators were either not working or switched off. Others warned of the inevitable noise from the passing main road or poor insulation in the room.
