The Rest And Be Thankful Inn is a countryside B&B located in Minehead, Exmoor National Park. It’s centrally situated in Wheddon Cross making it a perfect base for travellers. There are five rooms, all with en suite bathrooms. Amenities in the room include flat-screen TVs, minibars, tea and coffeemakers and hairdryers. All the rooms have soundproof floors while some of them have views of the Dunkery Beacon and the surrounding countryside. The Rest And Be Thankful Inn is a smoke free property. Amenities at the Inn include meeting spaces, wedding/party rooms and free Wi-Fi in public areas. Complimentary homemade breakfast is served at the inn. There’s also a restaurant and a bar that features a pool table as well. Dunkery Beacon is three miles from the inn and Dunster Castle as well as Dunster Working Watermill are around nine miles away.
The inn is situated ideally in Exmoor and it is very convenient to explore the area around that. Minehead is also just a 20-minute drive from the inn. Other major tourist attractions are also nearby and there are good restaurants and pubs in the vicinity.
Rooms in the inn are all en suite and also come with free toiletries. The rooms are very well maintained and hence are extremely clean. Beds in the room are very comfortable and the rooms in itself are spacious. Moreover, the rooms have all the necessary amenities like TVs, safes and minibars. Guests also said that despite the rooms being above the pub they are not noisy and do not cause disturbance.
Guests found their stay at the inn value for money. They were delighted with the rooms, location and most importantly the food. Food was homemade and was mouth-watering, had lot of options to offer and was also cooked fresh. All the facilities were reasonably priced and the atmosphere in the inn was also pleasant. Staff was helpful and friendly plus, gave the guests a warm welcome.
Most of the guests said that the bathrooms though en suite are pretty small. Taller and larger sized people were inconvenienced.
There's free Wi-Fi in public areas of the inn. But some guests said that the signals of the Wi-Fi were very poor and there were connectivity issues. Speed of the Wi-Fi was also very less.
Breakfast is served complimentary at the inn but the only time they serve it is 8 am to 9 am. Thus, guests who wanted to relax till late found the timing to be way too early.
