A Quality in Tourism 4-star rated Inn, The Queens Head built in 1790 is family run with letting rooms and restaurant in the village of Rothbury. You are sure to enjoy a stay here, as the Inn serves great breakfasts and has a very reasonable menu and blackboard specials. The rooms are all individually decorated, no themes or mass schemes here, and the property has its own car park, a novelty in Rothbury. Close to the river Coquet, Simonside Hills and stunning countryside, and 5 minutes from Cragside House & Gardens there is lots to do and see in the little village. Lots of independent shops still exist and thrive. Very central for access to the Heritage Coast and the stunning Northumberland National Park, there is something for everyone, even an 18 hole golf course! We were very lucky this year to be on the route of the OVO Cycle tour of Britain which was very exciting. We have some wonderful cycling in Northumberland and a brand new route through Rothbury called The Sandstone Way is becoming very popular. Cycles can be hired locally to go off road also with some great trails, some in the National park. Come and visit soon.
