The owners are very welcoming and hospitable say guests. The breakfast offered is sumptuous and very satisfying. The little extras such as bubble bath in the bedroom, complimentary bathrobes, fruit and brownies in the rooms and special items for breakfast made the stay special for several guests.
The Orchard House is located in Rothbury which is described as a lovely, quiet place to enjoy a holiday. There are pleasant riverside walks and inexpensive places to eat in town. The B&B is also within easy reach of outdoor activities such as hiking, riding and golfing and is also convenient for Hadrian's Wall.
Though some of the rooms have en suite showers and bathrooms, some rooms share bathrooms which require guests to go across the hall and past other rooms. This was a significant problem for some guests.
Guests have to look for parking which may or may not be available on the street where the B&B is located.
Some guests thought that staying at this B&B was worth it only if guests did so on a discount or a voucher of some sort. One or two guests thought that some aspects could do with some updates as the decor appeared jaded in places.
