The resort puts guests within walking distance to the recreational activities of the lake and mountains as well as downtown and its shops and eateries. Reviewers also spoke highly of the view of the surrounding landscape and noted that the local area is quiet.

Visitors who wanted something different from both the traditional country-style inns and the typical corporate chain hotels were pleased with the resort’s fusion of stylish modern decor and warm lodge-style furnishings.

Many guests enjoyed walking the nicely-kept hotel grounds in the warmer months, while others stated that the indoor pool, sauna, and hot tubs were great during the winter. The suites were also described as clean, comfortable, and spacious.

A number of people who stayed at the resort noted problems in their rooms such as draining issues in the tubs, fussy toilets, faulty appliances, and dim lighting. Others reported problems with the common facilities like excessive wear on the decks, insufficiently-heated pools, or dirty hot tubs.

Although most guests stated that their rooms were comfortable and the decor was homey, some felt that the suites and bathrooms badly needed updating. Problems included decades-old furnishings, worn towels and sheets, inadequate sound insulation, limited power outlets, and hard springy beds.

More than a few reviewers had issues arise with booking and check-in. Some were given the wrong room or their rooms were unavailable, while others did not receive upgrades they had paid for. In several instances, management staff was not helpful in solving the issue.
