The Lodge In The Vale is found in the heart of the Lakes District National Park, surrounded by mountains and fells at Legburthwaite. Found just off the A591, the lodge is a 10-minute drive from Keswick, Castlerigg and Lake Derwentwater, and Grasmere is 15 minutes away, via the edge of Thirlmere.
All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and hair dryers, complimentary toiletries, free Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections, flat-screen satellite TVs, safes and direct dial telephones.
The Lodge In The Vale has a beautiful, two-story glass atrium lobby and reception, and offers free parking and conference facilities for up to 20 people.
A continental buffet breakfast is served in the lodge’s all-day coffee shop and the fully-licenced bar serves a wide range of drinks, including local beers.
Foot access to the Lake District Ski Club area is found nearby, and Bowness on Windermere is about half an hour’s drive south.
The Lodge In The Vale is found in great location between two lakes, boasts fantastic views up and down the valley and is conveniently located for reaching a wide range of walks, and both Keswick and Grasmere by means of some lovely drives.

A few people made sure to mention that some rooms are small, and the lodge itself is not a particularly romantic setting, lacking a certain atmosphere. In addition, some were not happy with the bar closing early and with no cooked breakfasts being availab

Small amount of noise possible.
While there is the potential for a small amount of noise from within the lodge itself, and faint traffic noise can be heard, this has not been considered disruptive and most guests seem completely unaffected.

Mattresses a little on the harder side.
If you are very fussy about soft beds, then you may be among the few who found the mattresses to be a bit hard when they stayed, but most likely you will find it to not be an issue, like most guests who had no problem.
