The Inn At Ardgour is a family-run, 3-star inn overlooking the waters of Loch Linnhe at the Corran Narrows, a short ferry ride and a 14-minute drive south of Fort William. This Scottish Highlands location is a great base for exploring Ardgour, Morvern and Ardnamurchan, while Glencoe can be reached by the ferry and 13 minutes’ drive, and the Ben Nevis track is half an hour’s drive away. All 12 bedrooms come with mountain-bordered views of the loch, have en-suite bathrooms, TVs, clock radios and hair dryers. Friendly pets are welcome when pre-arranged, guests can relax in a residents lounge with leather sofas and free Wi-Fi, smoking is not permitted and free parking is available. Guests were delighted at the peace and quiet of the The Inn At Ardgour, where all rooms have loch views and miles of tranquil loch-side walking can be found, and they could enjoy the experience of a typical old Scottish inn and still be well-located for f
The big pub meals and breakfasts won over many, and were hearty and well-priced with a large menu selection and served in a lively, welcoming bar.
You will find the family hosts of The Inn At Ardgour to be very friendly and helpful, and you can bring the dog along for no extra cost.
A few keen-eyed guests found the inn to be calling out for modernisation, and others said the walls were rather thin so you may hear a little noise if you happen to have loud neighbours.
While the cooked breakfasts generally went down well, a few people looking for a vegetarian breakfast or fresh fruit found the offering to be wanting.
Keep in mind that you will have to pay for the ferry every time you want to cross the lake to the inn, but it seems that rooms may be cheaper here than on other side, so it could well balance out.
