The breakfast is also liked by the guests. Many find it delicious, well-cooked and of a good quality.
The Horse and Farrier seems to be heaven for real ale enthusiasts and beer lovers. They like the range of hand-pulled cask ales from the region on offer in the bar. And perhaps also not having very far to go at the end of the evening!
A few guests commented on the coolness of the room. Some found it chilly or freezing cold even; heating either didn't work or was ineffective. The thin duvets also do not help.
Whilst many guests are satisfied overall with their stay, they have a lingering feeling that they have paid a bit over the odds. The hotel is nice, and pleasant for certain, but is it really worth the high prices charged? Some think that the hotel is basic, lacking character and nothing special to justify the price. Leaving through the fire-escape, for instance, because the pub is closed doesn't give a feeling of staying in a high quality establishment.
Staying above a pub and restaurant, guests presume that finding somewhere to eat will not be a problem. Some are surprised to discover, especially in the week time, that food is not being served. What's more on Mondays much of the town is closed!
