This is a recently renovated property, with some areas still undergoing the finishing touches. Overall, a delightful place with cosy furnishings, a tasty selection at breakfast and a stroll away from three restaurants for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room and offers a choice of standard continental options or a made to order cooked plate, complete with delicious sausages, occasional mince pies, fresh fruits, a variety of cereals, yogurts, tea and fresh coffee. If it's dark outside when you head out later for dinner or to explore the area, the owners will give you a torch to light your way along the roads. Excellent free parking available right in front of the building.

Cosy, large beds, chocolates and biscuits to go with your in-room coffee/tea trays, bottled water, refreshing complimentary toiletries, plump towels and comfortable bathrobes. Check the closet for extra pillows, blankets and hair dryers. Rear-facing garden views are the best.

The hosts ensure your comfort with additional little touches throughout your stay as they get to know you. They'll greet you with a cup of hot tea in hand, sometimes even a whole tray of fresh biscuits to go with it, and offer assistance with booking taxis, suggestions and directions on area attractions/dining, and adjusted times for breakfast if you must leave early. Outstanding!

The water pressure will not knock you over here, but you'll probably get clean. Good enough.

As most areas have been refurbished, you probably won't find many problems - but older rooms have had somewhat outdated decor.

Part of the locale's serenity lies in its countryside setting. It's at least two miles to Knutsford, so most opt for a ride.
