This hotel is the perfect base for visiting the area as all of the local sights are within easy reach. There are plenty of little pubs, shops, and cafés around the area that make it a nice place to stay.
The rates offered in this hotel reflect the basic facilities you get but for a place to put your head down, it’s more than acceptable. Not great value for money but pretty close.
The breakfast is very hit and miss with some days having great service and food while other days are a disaster. The options are not great so if you’re a big eater in the morning, you might want to eat at a local café.
There is plenty of old world charm about the place, but it really needs a lot of TLC and in some cases a complete makeover. You won’t feel too comfortable considering that the décor is like something from the sixties.
The hotel is certainly old, but that is no excuse for it being as messy as it has been on occasion. Some guests have reported finding their rooms in a very sorry state so maybe you should check your room before accepting the allocation.
