This is a picturesque venue overlooking the serene Sound of Mull, where you can enjoy being away from the bustle with access to tasty Scottish food and drinks. The grounds and surrounding wildlife can be enjoyed from the viewing lounge which is just above reception. Many have seen rabbits, eagles, seals and other creatures from this venue. The main areas are warm and quiet. Aviation enthusiasts should note that there is a grass airstrip for small planes to land just adjacent to the hotel which is very convenient and does not contribute much noise. Freshly caught fish is often featured in the restaurant's fish and chips, as well as mussels, a variety of whiskeys and wines and even vegetarian options.

The unique layout of the rooms features log cabin wood panelling inside which is quite visually appealing. Request a room with a view of the Sound of Mull if possible.

Staff here are knowledgeable about the area and very willing to share their stories and experiences. Service is outstanding and you'll feel like part of the community very quickly if you spend much time chatting with others in the restaurant or bar.

Some might feel the rooms need a bit of more attention and cleaning, as there may be cobwebs, poor lighting and poorly scrubbed bathrooms. The grounds could use some love, too.

You may not be able to get Wi-Fi in your room if it's too far from the lobby.

The breakfast is offered during a limited time frame and includes basic continental items and a few cooked dishes. Some felt more choices should be available.
