The food is surprisingly delicious. The scampi and chips are decent casual foods and if you like meat, you have to try the lamb shank. Breakfast is nice as well.

The hotel staff are fantastic and a super friendly bunch. This really helps to enhance the hotel's ambiance. They are also full of good tips and information that will help make your stay more enjoyable. If you visit during the colder months, you will enjoy the roaring fire in the lounge area. Rooms are comfortable and clean.

It's a lovely facility and area. The hotel sits right on the border of the Lake District. If you are lucky, your room will include wonderful views as well. Be sure to check-out the chocolate shop across the street. They offer some of the best handmade chocolate treats you'll ever taste.

For such a small village, you might experience quite a lot of traffic noise. Windows don't help as they are single-glazed. Unfortunately, the traffic starts very early in the morning.

The shower and bathroom sink are a bit small, which makes it somewhat uncomfortable when trying to shower or brush your teeth. However, the bathroom is clean and modern

There is no Wi-Fi nor a TV in the room. Even if your idea of a vacation is not to sit in your room and watch TV, it's nice to know it's there in case you have a change of heart. It can also get tiresome going out of your room each time you want a Wi-Fi connection.
