Hotel The George (Lincoln, United Kingdom)

It's always nice to be warmly greeted in a new place, and guests loved the friendly welcome at The George. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating, and guests said that they felt right at home.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner were meals to remember, and guests were particularly taken with the fabulous made to order breakfast that was cooked to perfection. The quality of the ingredients was very good, and those who needed a stronger drink in the evening weren't disappointed with the vast selection of whiskeys.

Guests liked the grounds and general location of this hotel. The exterior gave a good first impression, which was followed up by the character found throughout the hotel. It was also a short walk for fantastic views, something many took advantage of.

Basic accommodation. Rooms were described as no-frills by several guests, with many wishing for a bit more ambience. While there was plenty of storage and rooms were considered to be a good size, a few extras would have made for a more comfortable stay.

Guests said that some work is required to bring rooms up to a better standard. Things that could benefit from modernising were the small TV, thin duvets, peeling paint, and uncomfortable mattresses found in certain rooms.

Several guests shared a common concern with heating. It seems that it was up to some guests to turn the heating on when they arrived, causing a chilly start to their visit. Others complained of damp quarters that contributed to room temperature concerns.
