You won't want to miss a meal during your stay, with a variety of tasty starters followed by dishes like smoked salmon, steak ale pie, and roast partridge, and finishing up with assorted fresh desserts and a lovely wine list. Of course, if you're here on a Sunday, the Sunday Carvery is a must as well! Breakfast is hearty, made with local produce and served up plentifully. Ask about seating in the outdoor area overlooking the river in warmer months.

Well-supplied rooms offer all the basic amenities, tasteful decor and large bathrooms. The four-poster suite is particularly nice for special occasions or romantic getaways.

These folks will go out of their way for your comfort from arrival to departure. If you need anything at all, be sure to let them know. They won't mind a bit!

There may be a bit of noise from the road in front-facing rooms. Ask for a rear-facing room or bring your earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

Some were distressed at having no mobile phone signal upon arrival. If you need to call out, please do so prior to driving in. Being a somewhat remote locale, signals drop off a bit outside the venue.

Some may feel like the menu and accommodations don't warrant the prices charged. Others will feel it's quite appropriate and a great value.
