You can get from Easingwold, very easily, to a number of neighbouring towns and attractions. *Why bother trying to park in York … when the bus leaves from just outside The George! The North York Moors are easily accessed, as are the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby. This location couldn't be better.
Accommodation is welcoming and warm; just what's needed during the colder months in chilly North Yorkshire. Staff members deserve a mention too for the warmth of their welcome. They are always cheerful and helpful; as well as being efficient. The accommodation is very clean. Some rooms are modern; others have a more traditional feel … and a four-poster bed!
Imaginative dishes are freshly prepared and served by those ever cheerful and accommodating members of staff. Meals here are certainly something to look forward to after a day exploring York and other sightseeing opportunities in the region.
Chalet rooms/apartments are in the car park area and are lacking in character. Beds are uncomfortable and need replacing as a matter of urgency. Rooms are, though, of a reasonable size.
Surrounded by rural countryside and farmland; the lack of fresh local produce is a disappointment at breakfast. *Either that or the supplier needs a slap on the wrist! They seem though, to have got an award for breakfast, so maybe this was a blip ... and things have improved in the more recent past. Let's hope so.
In the morning - when everyone is using the shower and bathroom - there is a problem with hot water failing to reach the required temperature.
