Motorists welcomed the direct access to the A5087, ample free on-site parking and proximity of the A590 and M6 for getting to area attractions, transport links, beauty spots and nearby towns.

Reviewers appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and often said they dealt with attentive, friendly and obliging personnel. The cooked and continental breakfasts were a hit with many guests as was the informal but tastefully-decorated restaurant, which reportedly offered wide choice of delicious dishes, a well-stocked bar and friendly service.

Several critics expressed occasional doubts over whether their stays represented such good value for money. Although the room rates were usually reasonable, they reportedly weren't the area's most competitive.

Although there was a bus stop nearby, guests noted that this property was slightly off the beaten path and therefore much easier to access for those with their own vehicles as public transport options were limited.
