The Fair Green is a four star Hotel situated in Thorne twenty minutes from Doncaster race course and thirty five minutes from Escape leisure Park. There are eight traditionally furnished en-suite rooms and another sixteen being refurbished. The rooms which can accommodate single, double, twin and triple occupancy, include TV, DVD and tea and coffee. The Fair Green has recently been taken over by new owners who are bringing the Hotel back into the 21st Century. They offer free parking, a bridal suite and a complimentary free drink if booked online. Breakfast and dinner can be served in the forty seater restaurant and bar area where guests can also enjoy weddings and functions. Nearby Thorne offers The spice Hut and John Bull Inn for a meal out. Surrounding the Hotel guests can find The Yorkshire wildlife Park, The dome leisure centre and Ice rink, Coinsborough Castle and St Georges Minister.

The hotel has a restaurant which is open to the public as well as guests. Many people visit for Sunday lunch and those who have previously stayed here have also rated it highly especially the roast potatoes which you get plenty of apparently.
Room eighteen is the larger family room, its very spacious, has a good size bathroom and guests have said this is one of the reasons which will make them return and stay again.
The Hotel offers itself as a wedding venue which has great results. Many reviews state the staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is very nice, decorations tasteful and the bridal suite is ideal.
Previous guests have noticed a smell around the hotel like damp/mould which is quite off putting when you enter the building as well as the rooms. This may be due to condensation in the winter or older style windows.
The bathrooms are mention a a lot as being dirty and old, in need of a revamp. The owners are currently doing up the hotel so this may be looked at. The Hotel reopened in October 2014.
The Hotel has recently been restored and there appears to still be work ongoing but there is a mention of a smell only at breakfast time in the restaurant which has put many people off coming and staying again.
