Beautifully scenic for keen outdoors-people for its proximity to fishing and hiking spots, The Cross Keys is appreciated for its location. It’s also convenient as it’s just off the M6.
The hotel was clean and tidy both in the public areas and in the rooms making for a strong first impression and welcome arrival on entry.
Some guests were unaware they would be sharing their bathrooms, which is not made entirely clear on the hotel’s website. Others had problems with bathroom doors not locking properly.
Maintenance in both bedrooms and bathrooms are needed according to some guests who found signs of wear and tear and faulty facilities.
Between the pub attached to the hotel and the road, guests mentioned it can get a bit noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the back of the hotel.
