Hotel The Craftsman Inn & Suites (Syracuse, USA)

This spot has seen younger days, but also had some recent upgrades so it's hanging in there. Very tidy and quiet. The on-site restaurant is tasty for all meals and you'll likely find fresh cookies and a roaring fire in the common area fireplace upon arrival. There's plenty of conveniences within walking distance like a shopping center with restaurants across the street (Target, Panera, etc) and a Starbucks within a stroll. Grocery stores aren't far either so you can grab a few things for the mini-fridge. Ample free parking.

Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Attached living areas and kitchenettes are spacious with nicely functioning amenities. The Stickley furniture is a nice touch.

Helpful and friendly staff will ensure your comfort from arrival to departure.

At busier times, you may find a few things may get overlooked. Ironing boards and other amenities are missing from rooms, no coffee has been prepared in the morning, there's no ice in the ice machines and for whatever reason, electronic keys may or may not work.

Although it does appear renovation has already taken place in some areas, others are still waiting their turn. Hallway and in-room carpeting is stained, drapes don't fit the curtain rods, dust ruffles are ripped and need replaced, and air conditioners are either entirely non-functioning or disturbingly noisy.

Most areas are pristine, but you may find the dusting and vacuuming has been overlooked or the in-room niceties weren't left as expected. Don't hesitate to call the desk if you need attention to these or other areas.
